It's been a while.....

Dear Blog,

I sincerely apologize for the months of neglect and inactivity. It's not you, it's me. I admit I've been seeing this other site on the side. You may have heard the rumors about my facebook account and I'm ashamed to admit that it's all true. I was seized by the glitz and games that it offers and the draw of Mafia Wars and virtual farming hooked me. I've seen the errors of my indiscretion and vow to be more attentive to you in the future. I know you are hurting and hope one day you'll forgive my transgression.

Sincerely,

Your Humble Blog Owner

My Kids Rock....Literally!!!

Michael has been wanting to connect with the kids and find an activity they can all share, in the hopes that even once they hit those turbulent adolescent years, he will still have a way interact with them and be a part of their worlds. His talents and hobbies are so varied, I imagined each kid choosing a different activity and my house turned upside down with 3 projects in varying states of completion! Thankfully, they all chose music. Chloe was a natural fit to the bass and Grace is occupying herself with the keyboard until we can find her the right drum set and Mom an insulated door to help block out the "lovely" sounds coming from their music room. Tonight is the first time all three kids have played together and they are trying to get in sync with each other. They did take the time to brainstorm a bitchin band name and I am proud to introduce......Las Baneras.....The Bathtubs!!!

Heritage Family Christian Works

Given the background of Michel's family, it's astounding that I don't go to church more. Actually, I think that's one of the reasons Cookie and Chuck founded Heritage Family Christian Works. If your father-in-law is pastor...you can't make a lame excuse as to why you weren't in a front row pew on Sunday. Although it's still small in number the quality of people attending is amazing. Honest, spirit seeking, salt of the Earth kind of folks. The type of people you want on your side when all hell breaks loose!! As with any church, Christmas is a big deal...celebrating the birth of Jesus and his resulting impact on the world is truly awe inspiring. Heritage Family was no exception and I hope you'll enjoy my daughters' contribution to the service.

Chloe has discovered the joys of Microsoft PowerPoint and showed off her skills.

Grace loves to sing and while her song choice was from the secular realm, it's too darn cute to exclude!!!

Dance Recitals

The girls completed another semester in dance class. This time it seemed a bit more like a chore. The weekly 65 mile round trip drive, the frantic searching for leotards and ballet shoes minutes before we leave, keeping Elijah occupied while they twirl and leap. Their instructor was a little more distracted with her college courses this time too, she never did get the girls a CD if the music to practice at home and their dancing shows it!! Please don't laugh too hard......at least they looked good!!!!!
